Buget Travel: Camping in Paris, France

For the budget traveler, even Paris hostels can be costly for backpacking couples, especially when compared to camping at Paris’ only campground.
Paris has one campground located at Bois de Boulogne park and it is called Le Camping du Bois de Boulogne.
Because there are limited spaces for pitching a tent, I highly recommend reserving a spot if you plan to go to Le Camping du Bois de Boulogne during the high season. There are, however, a lot more spots for RV’s; though, booking ahead, especially in the summer, is still a good idea.
Hot water, large showers and clean enough, just make sure to wear your flip-flops or shower shoes, are all hallmarks of the showers at Le Camping du Bois de Boulogne, which are free to use for campers at no extra charge.
Le Camping du Bois de Boulogne offers Internet, not WiFi, but I can’t recommend it. Other campers complained that the Internet, which consists of two computer in the campground office, was costly and unreliable.
A store and small restaurant are also located at Le Camping du Bois de Boulogne. And while the campground sells subway passes, we noticed that they overcharged for them in comparison to the Metro station.
Traveling to Le Camping du Bois de Boulogne from central Paris without a car:
The easiest and quickest way to get to the campground from downtown Paris use the yellow metro line to the Porte-Maillot station and then take a bus line 244 to the bus stop in the park. From there, it is about a quick walk to the campground. The last bus is at 10pm. You can also take a shuttle for about 3 euro that goes directly to the campground. The shuttle picks you up at the same 244 bus stop and it stops running at 12 am. One thing to consider is that the walk to the campground from the city bus is very dark. Personally, I would not walk it alone at night.

A Family Camping Vacation Is Fun

Taking a family camping vacation and getting away from the wii, play station 3 and now the X-360 is a must. How can you do that when the kids are glued to all the high tech toys? Gather the family together and tell them you are going on an adventure.
Go to a store; pick up a tent, stove, coffee pot and some sleeping bags. Purchase some food and put it all in the trunk. Get the family and leave all the tech equipment at home.
Going on a family camping vacation is the best way to get to know your kids again. Yes, they will complain about the dirt, hard ground and early morning wake up sun, for a few days. Before you know it, they will enjoy the hiking, playing in the lake and the fishing. Sitting around the campfire at night and the smores for dessert.
Before you leave the house put some board games in the car, then you can enjoy a game night while having a camp fire. After the games sing some songs and share some stories, while roasting marshmallows. The family will enjoy the stories a lot more and they will be appreciated.
Finding a good place to camp is not hard. Most people have state parks close to them. They usually charge a small nightly fee to use the facilities. Another option is a privately owned campground, these places can be easily found on the internet.
Beaches can be a fun place to camp, but can also get very windy. You will need a strong tent, well grounded to camp on a beach, but it can be a lot of fun listening to the ocean sounds at night. Another camping idea is going to the woods and finding a nice quiet camping site.
How many times have you gone fishing? Most campgrounds allow fishing, boating, water skiing, and much more. They have trail guides to tell you of days gone past. They usually offer lots of nature activities at campgrounds.
Sounds of nature are all around us and the best way to enjoy them is with the family. Most campgrounds have bathroom and shower facilities so one can wash up. Some even offer running water and electricity.
The best part of camping is that you are together with no cell phones or electronic toys. It is amazing the things you will find to do and the games the kids will create with what is on the ground. The scenery is unforgettable as you watch the beautiful birds fly over head or the squirrels scamper among the trees. Some places even have bears, but I would keep my distance.
Teaching the way people used to live is very close to camping. Children can learn history as they are having fun. Helping families listen to the quiet can be exciting as they try to identify the different sounds.
Becoming closer as a family cannot be avoided when going camping. This will be a very special time and long remembered. Doing new things is a must when going camping. Sharing times of laughter and mistakes is a great way to get to know each other better.
A camping vacation allows plenty of time for the entire family to reconnect and remember what is important as you play and work together. Take a little time to plan your trip in advance, though. Make a list of some easy camping recipes as well as the camping supplies you will need to take along with you. Engage the whole family in the planning process.

Having a high cuboid design, the Wenzel Mackinac family dome tent gives full head height throughout making it an excellent choice for campers who are fed up of getting backache!
It has an attached screen room which makes it particularly suitable for families who spend a significant amount of time playing at and around the campground.
Main Features
The Wenzel Mackinac family dome tent is unusually roomy with full standing room throughout.
Setting up requires 2 adults and is not the fastest event in the world but it’s not difficult. If you appreciate the other benefits it has to offer then don’t let this put you off.
The screen room attached to the Wenzel Mackinac family dome tent is a real bonus for those who spend time at the campground. With the mesh walls you can keep all the bugs at bay but still enjoy full airflow and daylight.
When things cool down, the walls simply zip closed to give a very cozy porch feel and this retains heat nicely without becoming stuffy.
It has a removable rain fly which means you can have full daylight and airflow when it suits you but if the weather takes a turn for the worse the fly is simple and quick to fit.
The Wenzel Mackinac family dome tent is even more spacious than it looks. The rear room has space to spare even with 2 queen size air beds in place. The screen room can hold table and chairs with extra cooking gear and more whilst not feeling crowded.
Some people use the screen room as an extra private bedroom but this means having to pack away your living gear in the evening. Unfortunately there is no secondary access door to the rear room.
Now we move on to the best and worst aspects of the Wenzel Mackinac family dome tent. We will also cover the dimensions and other details along with user opinions, thoughts and reviews.
Continue reading this review on the Wenzel Mackinac family dome tent to get the full picture. You may also like to compare it against the other Wenzel family dome tents in the range and search for the best current on line prices before deciding which to buy.

How to Find the Perfect Sleeping Bag For Camping

When you go outdoor camping how well you sleep will probably be really dependent on your sleeping bag. If you have the wrong choice of sleeping bag for the situation your sleep can certainly be miserable. That can mess up the whole vacation. Here is help on exactly how to choose the right type of sleeping bag for outdoor camping.
Selecting the perfect bag for sleeping does not have to be hard if you understand what to look for. Look at the following things to help make your judgement easy.
Price tag
Due to obvious factors, price is an important factor in each buying decision made for picking the perfect sleeping bag. To reduce the risk of failing to achieve the necessary camping and sleeping factors, it is an excellent idea to not get stress too much regarding the issue of price until after each factor has been taken into consideration. You can never put a cost on quality. Pick the design that is important for your needs, study some testimonials with regard to that product, and if you have lastly decided, then think about with the dollars.
Lightweight bag
For fantastic distances, the bag must be backpacked, so choose a sleeping bag that is light in weight. A lighter bag can certainly help lessen the burden of the trekking and it can make way for some other essential camping items. However, the bag weight is also affected by the predicted weather exposure. Choose the suitable sleeping bag which is long lasting and proof to relative weather changes. You need to have a bag that can maintain you warm and would allow you to keep cool. If you are up in the mountains, and you need insulation, you can have a bag that is large enough to allow bed clothing that is insulated.
Dimensions
Cozy sleeping bags vary in size, so it is appropriate to check out the sleeping bag’s data and when in the shop, try the sleeping bag on for size. The most effective is a close-fitting bag. Some bags are also made for women who are narrower and shorter.
Side zips
For you to get into your bag easily, very carefully consider the zipper system first. Side zips extend along the length of the bag. This variety of zipper design can be very useful. You have the ability to open the bag at the bottom to allow your feet to cool down. Half-length side zips create a lighter weight for the bag; however, this potentially can make the sleeping bag too warm for use in warmer climate conditions. Many bags have baffle openings that allow for ventilation and these can be useful as well.

Outdoor Camping - Camping Tents To Fit Everybody
January 26, 2010 by Michael Dorian
Camping is great fun for the whole family and is a great way for kids to get out there and do something different while the adults get time to sit back and relax.
Some families prefer to hire a camper van equipped with all the modern facilities while others like to rough it out in an actual tent. If you’re thinking about the latter, and are considering purchasing a tent for the next family outing, this guide is perfect for you.
The ideal family camping tents are the ones that’ll fit everyone with a lot of space left over. Though a small number of might say that there’s nothing comfortable about a tent, having enough space for every person is fundamental for a good trip. If everybody is overcrowded within the family camping tent, they are not going to sleep very well and will be ratty the next morning.
There are many sizes in the ‘family tent’ category, all the way from three-person tents to huge circus-type tents that can fit up to 12 people. The idea is to pick one which has room enough to accommodate a family of five (on average there are 4 members per family), so that everyone has enough room to move about and stretch out a little.
The ideal tent for a decent-sized family should include separate rooms. Yes, you heard it right, “rooms”. It is basically one big tent divided up by zip up walls that have a configurable set up. Although the walls are very thin and do not prevent sound from traveling through them, they’re good for providing that extra privacy just in case someone wants to change their clothing while others are sleeping in the same tent.
For larger family tents like the twelve-person tent, the addition of multiple rooms means that 2 families may go on a trip together. They also allow people to go in and out of the tent without interrupting the sleep of others.
If you’re just going for a quick camping trip over the weekend, you may not require such an extravagant tent such as a family tent or a ten-person tent. However, camp out for more than three days and you’d be wishing that you invested in one. You definitely will not be enjoying your trip, and neither will your family if everyone had to be squashed together every night.
When you’re deciding on which family tent to buy, look for tent designs that allow plenty of air flow throughout the tent. A better form of ventilation is crucial when you have many people sleeping in the same room. Depending on where you are going to camp, or what season it is, you might require either a three season or four season tent.
